    Avatar Press is an independent American publisher of comic books, founded in 1996 by William A. Christensen, and based in Rantoul, Illinois.

    Avatar initially published only mini-series; however, they have since begun to branch out. Currently, Avatar publishes several ongoing series, including Doktor Sleepless and Gravel, both written by Warren Ellis.

    Moonstone Books is an American comic book, graphic novel, and prose fiction publisher based in Chicago focused on pulp fiction comic books and prose anthologies as well as horror and western tales.

    The company began publishing creator-owned comics in 1995, and since 2001 has also published material based on a number of licensed properties, including Zorro, Doc Savage, The Avenger, Buckaroo Banzai, Bulldog Drummond, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, Mr. Moto, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, The Phantom, Honey West and several titles based in White Wolf's World of Darkness

Image AdHouse Books

    AdHouse Books is an independent comic book publisher based in Richmond, Virginia. It was founded in 2002 by graphic designer Chris Pitzer. Its small annual output and high-end production values have earned it the nickname "The Boutique Juggernaut."

    Adhouse is known primarily as a publisher of graphic novels, beginning with 2002's Pulpatoon: Pilgrimage, and continuing with books like Salamander Dream, and Mort Grim. This output includes the Project series of themed anthologies: Project Telstar, Project Superior, and Project Romantic. In 2004, AdHouse announced that it was expanding to include the traditional comic book format. The AdHouse line now includes several ongoing comic book series, such as Skyscrapers of the Midwest. In 2005, Adhouse began to publish art books, with James Jean's Process Recess, and a forthcoming PulpHope: The Art of Paul Pope.

Image Les Humanoïdes Associés

    Les Humanoïdes Associés is a French publishing house specialising in comics and graphic novels. Founded in December 1974 by Mœbius, Jean-Pierre Dionnet, Philippe Druillet and Bernard Farkas in order to publish Métal Hurlant, it quickly expanded to include a variety of science fiction work. Considered revolutionary in the comic book artform at the time, chiefly due to its focus on the sci-fi genre, it inspired many generations of authors and filmmakers, such as Ridley Scott for his film Blade Runner.

    Beginning in March 2010, Humanoids Inc. will formally reestablish itself as a US Comic Book Publisher. Humanoids Inc. will be overseen by Publisher Fabrice Giger, Director Alex Donoghue, Editor In Chief Bob Silva, and Senior Art Director Jerry Frissen. The first batch of Humanoids published comic books and graphic novels will debut in June 2010.

    In 2009, an ambitious new company entered the graphic novel market. Based in New Delhi, India, Campfire Graphic Novels has a distribution network with several major publishing houses around the world such as Random House.[3]

    Campfire publishes its graphic novels in four categories: Classics, Biography, Mythology, and Originals. Campfire currently has a collection of more than 25 titles, and is poised to increase its output over the coming months. Some of their most popular titles include Photo Booth: A Graphic Novel, Kidnapped, Conquering Everest: The Story of Hillary and Norgay, and 400BC: The Story of the Ten Thousand.[4] After re-creating the classics for a new generation of readers, their current goal is to produce high quality graphic novels using stories from Indian mythology
