I would like to know if there is someone who switched from Android to WP7, and more important, what was your intention doing so. My first smartphone this generation (I had an HTC Touch Pro2 before) was an Samsung Omnia 7, and I was very impressed by it, by the hardware itself, but moreover by Windows Phone 7 as OS. I like the way the GUI is build and how stable and technicaly mature it feels, also the great IE9 experience, by far the best mobile browser compared to the competitors.
I also knew even before I bought that phone, that there are a lot more apps for Android and iOS, but it wasn't that important for me, at least until I discovered some small, but relevant detail for me: because of the restrictions given by Microsoft on the WP7, the software installed on the phone can't use the earpiece as audio output device, which means that VOIP software can only be used paired with the headset. A fact that was realy disturbing for me, since I am using VOIP software a lot.
That lead to the point where I sold my Omnia 7 and bought an Android device (LG Optimus 2X), which is a great phone also, but after WP7 Android feels like stone age, and now I'm not sure if I should go back to WP7.
So my question to you, if you switched from Android to WP7: Why did you do that, are you satisfied, what are your plans for the future? Staying with WP7 or switching to something else again? Any comments are welcome
