Hi,

more a general question, are the cooked/cracked ROMs of WidowsMobile only working or cracked for a specific phone?

I just got a used HTC Touch diamond2 and I managed to update from Windows mobile 6.1 to 6.5.
But now for the update to 6.5.3 I only find a version supposedly working on At&T phones.

Is there a Version of WM 6.5.3 which is brading free?

Yes they are. Each cooked ROM is made for a specific phone model. The cooked ROM has embeded device drivers only for that phone camera, GSM chip, GPS, Radio, etc.

But if there is a 6.5.3 for Diamond2 for AT&T that means that there must be a generic one from HTC. AT&T just changed the generic ROM with their branding, logos, settings and customizations.
