Can you help me? Every time I go to play a song, any song, it always ask me to upgrade my account to a Grooveshark Anywhere account. Any ideas to bypass this?

 

If you recall, when you started the app the first time it probably asked you to start your trial which you agreed to. The trial period has run out. The good news is it's extremely simple to reset the trial.

settings > applications > manage applications > find grooveshark > force stop if it's running > clear data

That's it. Now all you need to do is sign back in, and you're ready to roll again. Please do realize that this process resets the app so you'll need to change the settings back to the way you want them if the default settings aren't the way you like it.

I also have the IO stream error. I have a MT4G stock, tried numerous times to reinstall/clear data, doesn't seem to solve anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (also, it doesn't seem to be communicating with the servers/internet while attempting to play a song (no data transferred over 3G)).

*EDIT* seems to be an HTC specific issue... also affects normal users, google "grooveshark IO stream" and see for yourselves. The "fix" is here, i haven't tried it so YMMV http://forums.grooveshark.com/discussio ... ur-HTC-Evo

Does anybody know where the offline songs are actually saved? Thanks.

I don't recall what directory it is offhand, but I'm guessing you're asking b/c you intend to find the directory and then grab the saved songs for use as you please. Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. Grooveshark saves the offline songs in a format only the Grooveshark app can utilize.

If you really want the song files I recommend just downloading one of the many free apps that specifically downloads mp3s. There are a number that work well.

Does not work on Ice Cream Sandwich, Galaxy Nexus. Unsure if the problem is OS related.

Installs fine, opens fine, "starts trial" fine. When I chose a song it will give me the "Loading" for a brief second, but then it says "Unfortunately, Grooveshark has unexpectedly stopped." The app doesn't close, but it just kicks back to the search and the song does not play.

I upgraded to the previous VIP version and got my account flagged.

These are the steps I followed on my rooted Moto Defy to get GS working again:

1) Delete application data/cache, then uninstall old apk.
2) Change IP address (I changed my MAC address and restarted my router since I was on wifi).
3) Make new GS account on the computer.
4) Install new apk.
5) *optional* Log on to the new account on the computer and subscribe to your flagged account's playlist. I found that the account played correct songs on the computer but not on the phone. By subscribing, you can keep and update your original account on the computer and automatically update the playlist on your phone's account.
6) Log on the apk using the new account.
7) When the apk prompts you for trial, accept it.

It seems to be fine for now, I'll post if it gets flagged again. I did not perform a factory reset/reformat SD.

After login with my account (i have no idea when it was created through grooveshark website) and searching for songs it gives me "Your trial has expired. Pay 9$ bla bla". What to do now ?

I get "Trial Expired" when trying to listen to ONE song Right after I started my trial. I have unistalled, cleared data etc. This doesnt work anymore.

Note: I have never used this app before either. So no old "traces" left that could be bugging me out.
