which version of Facebook are you using?
I tried the one from OP, chat enabler didn't work, had tried uninstall and reinstall.. still didn't work..

Revert back to v55.0.0.18.66 then, which I think the last version which works with chat enabler..

im using the same version as this black modded one... i installed the mod black version then uninstalled the messenger app then installed the messenger enabler app..

Now when I open FB, and click on that right top messenger Icon, it redirects to chrome.
