Welcome to the Southern Reach. Nestled south of the raging Swordsong River and west of the impenetrable, mysterious Dragon's Spine Mountains, it is a harsh and rugged land, fraught with peril and rife with might and mysticism. From clans of bloodthirsty trolls and village-razing dragons, to the looming, constant threat of abject boredom, this is a land in need of heroes. That is until Krög's father, the wise and fearsome Battle King, expels his son from the confines of the Great Hall just weeks before the prince's 25th birthday, and sends the untested, uninterested, junior warlord on a series of zany and tumultuous labors of would-be greatness. Much to Krög's chagrin, he finds he is painfully naive in the hazards of the world beyond his fortress city, and it will take a heap of luck just to bumble past the next signpost.
With the help of a stalwart, if extraordinarily strange, group of squabbling new companions, the Battle Prince will brave the stronghold of an invading band of marauders, and plum the depths of an ancient monster's cave as he ventures forth on his first real steps towards becoming a hero...

The Waning Days of Summer (#2) Madcap adventure promises to save the junior warlord and his mighty troll friend from the skeletal, chilling grip of boredom ever clutching at their souls. On the edge of autumn, Krög abandons the comfort of the Great Hall searching for his next triumph… too often meeting bumbling defeat.
Whether dodging ogres bent on barbecued barbarian for lunch, or battling a tower full of really angry curtains, or just trying to figure out what in the nine hells is going on inside the head of the spritely young woman contending for his affections, the young ruler is never wanting for an interesting afternoon.
Before falls the shadow of winter across the land, cometh the waning days of summer… and a whole heap of trouble.
