Except TubeMate, all these video download apps will NOT download anything above 720p! Why is that? Only TubeMate integrates an Ausio/Video converter to be able to download at 1080p and higher resolutions? I ask because TubeMate never works well on my system and always has ads no matter what.. but all the other apps, like this one, are all limited to 720p or lower downloads..

If anyone knows more about this, I'd love to understand the reason for this or if there are any other alternatives. Thanks for the info:)

How can you download 1080p videos if that option is not even available and the app's developer also states maximum download size is 720p?

Not all videos shared by uploaders are 1080p.

Some uploader has maximum resolution of 720p
then we wudnot get option to download 1080p.. maximum wud be 720p instead

Checked for till now 1080p videos are downloadable..as it was in previous release too
tubemate though modded shows ads after using for sometime longer than usual..

Cheers!

What phone do you use? Android version?.

Tubemate also always crash and shows ads at my phone. Thus I switched to snaptube for a long time already. Like other video downloader, snaptube use your phone encoder for video 720p above. Last time I checked, the download for 720p above always slow down during the last percentage. It seems the audio was redownload and remuxed, and the speed of remuxing depends on your hardware as well. But I didn't notice the slowdown in these new version

Then I rechecked again. You can try some 4K video sample, such as Sony 4K Demo : Another World. I remembered last time I check it using my older phone, it only shows up to 720p. While my current phone shows up to 2K (2560x1440p). That suggest me that snaptube use phone's hardware to do the encoding. Somehow, when i tried this version, my older phone and current one can shows up to 4K also! Maybe this new version has switched to new download algorithm. If it don't show up, try clean install.
