Overview: Emrick Mastaglia becomes the first woman head coach in the NBA when she takes over for her late father. A dream job becomes a reality. Investor:Dillon Lennox is looking into the Shooters team on her father’s behalf since he is currently in France at the Paris headquarters of Lennox Industries. Dillon sees Emrick as just another conquest until they actually sleep together. That changes everything for her. This time it’s different; more than just fun and games. But Emrick knows the score and what kind of woman Dillon is and she’s ready to move on. She’s way too busy being under the microscope of public opinion to worry about what Dillon might think.
The problem: Dillon digs into the books as part of the due diligence of investing in the team and soon becomes uneasy. It’s not something she can point to and say this is off. But there is something wrong and it’s hiding just out of sight. She wonders if Emrick is part of it. She wonders if Robert Parasyn is part of it. She wonders what the hell “it” is. She vows to find out, if only to ease her mind that the woman who occupies too much of her mind is not involved. What will she do if Emrick is involved in something nefarious?
Will the team flounder or flourish under Emrick’s rule? Will the public condemn her just because she’s a woman, or will they rally behind her? Will they even give her a chance to find out? And is the team owner just using her as a marketing opportunity until he can get a ‘real’ coach in there next year?
