You can have it start spotify and it will stop after the set time limit.

Alscritter, that app looks like the perfect workaround. Thanks for the quick response and solution. It's a shame Spotify doesn't include the simple feature. Until they do, Sleep Timer will do the job!

Yes you will. No fault of the mod as explained in other posts.

Ok thanks, I bypassed the ads. Just mirror the screen to chromecast and spotify is not showing any ads.

Yes that would work as spotify is running on your phone as opposed to on the chromecast. This has disadvantages but as you point out at least you dont get ads
