Description
AdAway is a utility used to manage hostfile entries; your phone must be rooted to use this app. AdAway doesn't directly block ads; it limits unwanted ads by blocking servers that distribute those ads to websites. Modifying hostfile entries is also useful in blocking ads on some Android apps.

Useful, but still buggy after all these releases.
Despite activating the 'auto update' function the lists need to be manually checked and updated.
Even worse, the local server will never run; it can be invoked and will show 'running', but when switching the window screen back and forth it is again marked 'NOT running'. All on Android 5.1
But I have not found any other adblocker that does remove most ads, so I am hanging in.

Have you tried Blokada? Some folks find success with it. Personally I find Blokada glitchy. I have better luck with AdAway. To each their own I guess.

I trust your device is rooted and is allowing AdAway to automatically bootup on your device's startup sequence? All necessary to properly operate.

Buggy. It mostly cosmetic changes, like, "card displays". No new meaningful feature.

3.3 Is OFFICIAL STABLE release from f-droid, updates are BETA UNSTABLE releases from xda-developers instead.
