Multimodal
Swype now delivers a four input modalities in one keyboard. Swype from letter to letter; Type rapidly with predictive text input powered by XT9; Swype naturally through a fully integrated Dragon button; or, simply Write letters, words and symbols using your fingertip.

Living Learning Keyboard
Swype builds a personal language model to fit your input style. It’s a ‘living keyboard’ as we call it. The more you use it, the more accurate it gets.

Next Word Prediction
Swype has integrated advanced bi-gram and tri-gram modeling from the XT9 portfolio, to provide uncanny next-word-prediction. With Swype’s learning language model, the predictions are more accurate with each use.

New Look and Feel
Swype is snazzier than ever. We’ve redesigned the product from the ground up. We’ve made an effort to simplify both interaction and interface for a much cleaner look. And there’s no more globe key—just long press the space bar to change languages!

Voice-Text Dictionary Syncing
Every new word added to your personal dictionary gets added for both speech and text. Swype has a unified language model, so after new words are added to your dictionary you can speak or write them no matter how unique or specialized. You can even have Swype learn from emails, texts, Facebook and Twitter.

…AND, you asked for it! Swype Beta now supports:
Default dictionary editing! Just long press on the word when it’s in the horizontal candidate list to remove it from your default dictionary
Personalization with Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, and SMS! Import words from previous SMS messages in Swype Settings > Swype Connect > Personalization. We also grab contacts from Gmail and Facebook, and messages from Twitter.

Major improvements to Korean and Chinese. Swype supports ChunJiIn keyboard for Korean. Chinese now supports both Simplified and Traditional input in Pinyin, Zhuyin, Bihua, Canjie and Quick Canjie.

Install Swype Beta alongside your pre-installed version of Swype! You no longer do you have to root your device to get the Swype Beta if Swype is pre-installed. We’ve changed the namespace so you can maintain your perfectly tested pre-installed Swype keyboard AND try out the latest and greatest from Swype.

Yes, I have the same, running Gingerbread. I am part of their beta program, so I checked for an update, and got one - but it's different to this. For example, there is no option to pop-up the letters that you are typing. The preferences screen is laid out differently too.

Quote:
Fully Integrated XT9 predictive tap, T9Write, and Dragon dictation algorithms and dictionaries
Expanded language support for Dragon Dictate and implemented voice-text dictionary sync. Click here to learn more.
Advanced language model support providing context predictions, faster word completion, and next word prediction
Learning personal language model that improves predictions with continued use
Added support for quick personalization through SMS, Gmail, Twitter, and Facebook
Substantial changes to user interface and user experience
Changed behavior of word addition to the personal dictionary. Words are now intelligently entered based on input style and number of times entered.
Implemented default dictionary editing so users can remove words in their default/baseline dictionary
Major improvements to Chinese with expanded input support for Simplified and Traditional input with Pinyin, Zhuyin, Bihua, Canjie, Quick Canjie
ChunJiIn keyboard support added for Korean
Expanded language and resolution support for tablets. Tablets now support all languages as the mobile handset version.
NOTE:The user dictionary from ALL previous Swype Beta versions will not work with the new version of Swype Beta. Unfortunately, we couldn't make necessary improvements to the underlying architecture of Swype while maintaining backwards compatibility. Check out personalization in Swype Settings > Swype Connect to quickly train your dictionary back up.
NOTE:Japanese language support is not present in this version of Swype Beta. Click here to learn more.

It's the latest.

Following on from my previous post... Just got a notification that a new beta was available, d/l'ed it and it's now the one from the first post :)

Been using Swype for a while, it's a great input method - my default - and very tolerant of inaccurate swipes...

I think they just completely overhauled Swype and just started back at the 1.0's....also Swype picked up new investors/owners I think.

True this keyboard feels by far like the best combination of all the features one would want in a keyboard. I think I tried like every keyboard out there and I keep on coming back to this one. Now with this update I love the prediction it feels like little bit of swift x prediction happening, my second best pick.
Most importantly they finally fixed voice typing in your other language so it doesn't default to English like the last version did.

Swype have been very confusing here - if you do things via their beta program, first you have to install the beta installer, which is a separate app from the current installer... then install the swype beta, which is a totally different app from the v3.26xxx everyone has been using up till now.

It's got some new stuff, but I think they have removed a lot of the good configs from the previous beta version - in fact, I'm still using the previous version as my default input method.

There are quite a few angry voices on their beta forum... so hopefully the definitive app will revert some changes.

There is TWO versions of Swype. They renamed the beta so that you can keep the original Swype and test this beta Swype. That is why there are two versions. You must have the original Swype installed to run this beta.

This info is per the info screen when i installed the beta.

Swype beta 1.0.3.5809
Swype stable 3.26.92.39062

BOTH will be installed and you must pick Swype Beta as your default keyboard to see the new changes.

The beta is awesome btw!
