General Questions

Mobilism is a community of like-minded users who share apps, books, post reviews, participate in contests, play various games and are involved in lots of other activities. The site was founded in 2006.
WRZ$ is Mobilism’s virtual currency system. Each user starts with 50 WRZ$ and gains WRZ$ through posting, being thanked by other members, participating in contests, fulfilling requests, and other activities on this site.

Posting: Depending on what special groups a user in, each user will receive WRZ$ upon making a post and a larger amount upon starting a new topic
Thank Yous: A release that has been checked by a moderator will have a Thank You button in its lower right-hand corner. Clicking that button adds 1 WRZ$ to the person who posted it, without subtracting WRZ$ from the user offering thanks.
Contests: Mobilism has lots of creative contests in the Contests Section. Some require a buy-in, others don’t, but if you play well you can get WRZ$ from practically all of them.
Requests: Most sections have requests sections. Successfully fulfilling a request will require the person who made the request to donate you the promised amount of WRZ$.
How do I see how much WRZ$ I have? You can see your WRZ$ below your name in any post you made. Additionally clicking on your name in a private message or elsewhere will lead you to your profile, which lists your WRZ$. If you’ve never sent a private message or made a post, your WRZ$ is still 50.
How do I donate WRZ$? Once again, you can see other users’ WRZ$ either below a post of theirs or by going to their profiles. Below the amount you’ll see "Donate WRZ$" - clicking on it will allow you to send WRZ$ from your account to theirs.
Mobilism is a collection of semi-autonomous sections. Each has it’s own rules, team, a team leader and sometimes other special roles. The team of one section usually cannot intervene in the matters of another section. Some roles are global, such as Spam Moderators. If you need to contact the administration you can email them at admin at mobilism dot org.
Go to the general releases of the section you want to post in. In other words, if you want to post a book, go to eBook Releases, not one of the categories. Once a moderator checks your post it will be moved to one of the categories..

Login and Registration Issues

Make sure your username and password are correct. If you need to activate your account, check your email for a confirmation link. Some email services may block our emails, we recommend you use Gmail accounts to confirm your Mobilism registration.
To participate! Registering allows you to start new topics, post, participate in contests, use search and so much more.
This likely happens if your browser is not properly storing our cookie. Try using a different browser to see if that fixes things. If it does, investigate what is different about the configuration of your previous browser.
Within your User Control Panel, under “Board preferences”, you will find the option Hide your online status. Enable this option with Yesand you will only appear to the administrators, moderators and yourself. You will be counted as a hidden user.
Don’t panic! While your password cannot be retrieved, it can easily be reset. Visit the login page and click I’ve forgotten my password. Follow the instructions and you should be able to log in again shortly.
COPPA, or the Child Online Privacy and Protection Act of 1998, is a law in the United States requiring websites which can potentially collect information from minors under the age of 13 to have written parental consent or some other method of legal guardian acknowledgment, allowing the collection of personally identifiable information from a minor under the age of 13. If you are unsure if this applies to you as someone trying to register or to the website you are trying to register on, contact legal counsel for assistance. “Delete all board cookies”deletes the cookies created by phpBB which keep you authenticated and logged into the board. It also provides functions such as read tracking if they have been enabled by the board owner. If you are having login or logout problems, deleting board cookies may help.

User Preferences and settings

If you are a registered user, visit your User Control Panel.
It is possible the time displayed is from a timezone different from the one you are in. If this is the case, visit your User Control Panel and change your timezone to match your particular area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc. Please note that changing the timezone, like most settings, can only be done by registered users. If you are not registered, this is a good time to do so.
There are two images which may appear along with a username when viewing posts. One of them may be an image associated with your rank, generally in the form of stars, blocks or dots, indicating how many posts you have made or your status on the board. Another, usually a larger image, is known as an avatar and is generally unique or personal to each user. It is up to the board administrator to enable avatars and to choose the way in which avatars can be made available. If you are unable to use avatars, contact a board administrator and ask them for their reasons.
Ranks, which appear below your username, indicate the identify or status of certain users, e.g. moderators, administrators, VIPs, etc. Your rank can be changed through donating, becoming a part of the administration, or purchasing a special rank through WRZ.

Posting Issues

Go to the general releases of the section you want to post in. In other words, if you want to post a book, go to eBook Releases, not one of the categories. Once a moderator checks your post it will be moved to one of the categories.
Chances are you are trying to edit a request you posted. Contact a moderator of the section in which it is posted and they will edit it for you. You can edit any other kind of post you make on your own.
To add a signature to a post you must first create one via your User Control Panel. Once created, you can check the Attach a signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate button in your profile. If you do so, you can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box within the posting form.
Some forums may be limited to certain users or groups. To view, read, post or perform another action you may need special permissions.
Because you were naughty.
There is an exclamation mark next to the post you wish to report. Clicking this will walk you through the steps necessary to report the post.
This allows you to save passages to be completed and submitted at a later date. To reload a saved passage, visit the User Control Panel.

Formatting and Topic Types

BBCode is a special implementation of HTML, offering great formatting control on particular objects in a post. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML, but tags are enclosed in square brackets [ and ] rather than < and >. For more information on BBCode see the guide which can be accessed from the posting page.
No. It is not possible to post HTML on this board and have it rendered as HTML. Most formatting which can be carried out using HTML can be applied using BBCode instead.
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag. You can also upload images to
Sticky topics within the forum appear below announcements and only on the first page. They are often quite important so you should read them whenever possible. As with announcements and global announcements, sticky topic permissions are granted by the board administrator.

User Levels and Groups

The users in red. Administrators are members assigned with the highest level of control over the entire board. Usually they’re Section Heads. Most Administrators are Section Heads but not all Section Heads are administrators.
Sections on Mobilism have relative autonomy. Each has it’s own team, a team leader and sometimes other special roles. The team of one section usually cannot intervene in the matters of another section. If you need to complain about the behavior of a certain moderator, you do it to the Head of the section that moderator is moderating.
The users in green. They moderate! Moderators are members of our staff who make everyone follows the site’s rules.
The users in light green. They’re similar to moderators but do not have the same authority. Oftentimes helpers eventually become moderators.
The people in orange. Mobilism has an Android Review Section and a Book Review Section. Users who are part of their review teams are the Reviewers.
The guys in purple. Different sections have different requirements for becoming a Major Releaser but generally it comes with making significant contributions to the release sections.
The users in blue. VIPs are either members who were rewarded with VIP status for their contributions, or donated to support Mobilism. VIPs have access to VIP sections: VIP Releases, VIP Requests, VIP Talk, receive extra WRZ$ and do not see any ads.

Private Messaging

You can block a user from sending you private messages by using message rules within your User Control Panel. If you are receiving abusive private messages from a particular user, inform a board administrator; they have the power to prevent a user from sending private messages.
We are sorry to hear that. The e-mail form feature of this board includes safeguards to try and track users who send such posts, so e-mail the board administrator with a full copy of the e-mail you received. It is very important that this includes the headers that contain the details of the user that sent the e-mail. The board administrator can then take action.

Friends and Foes

You can use these lists to organise other members of the board. Members added to your friends list will be listed within your User Control Panel for quick access to see their online status and to send them private messages. Subject to template support, posts from these users may also be highlighted. If you add a user to your foes list, any posts they make will be hidden by default.
You can add users to your list in two ways. Within each user’s profile, there is a link to add them to either your Friend or Foe list. Alternatively, from your User Control Panel, you can directly add users by entering their member name. You may also remove users from your list using the same page.

Searching the Forums

It may take up to an hour for your post to be added to our search database. Be patient.
Hover over the magnifying glass icon, the option is there.

Topic Subscriptions and Bookmarks

Bookmarking is like bookmarking in your browser. You aren’t alerted when there’s an update, but you can come back to the topic later. Subscribing, however, will notify you via email when there is an update to the topic.
To remove your subscriptions, go to your User Control Panel and follow the links to your subscriptions.
