i have a 3GS with a baseband 6.15
and i have the usual GPS problem
im running IOS 4.2.1 8C148a jailbroken with greenpois0n

anyways i wanna fix the GPS problem so bad and i wanna use the IOS 5 too
should i just upgrade it from itunes then jailbreak it ?
will this fix my GPS ?
if i shouldn't upgrade it from the itunes, which custom firmware should i use? (please provide a link)

there is something called pkgbackup it backs up your cydia stuff use that to create a backup and then upgrade to the ios 5 if your iphone is from att and that is not your carrier please send a pm to ga!nusha on how to use ultrasnow on ios 5

should i upgrade from itunes or not ?

Your GPS will never work, since your stuck at baseband 6.15 and never be able to change it.

Yes only if your on the old bootrom, Im on the new, so im stuck forever

In the about screen, you will find the bootrom version.

Seems a fix is still being talked about
"MuscleNerd to Release 6.15.00 Baseband Downgrade & Unlock on iPhone 3G/3GS!"

This is a few weeks old

You have to use custom ipsw that preserves the baseband. Do not update to stock IOS 5 or you'll run into problems.

excuse me but how could i know if i'm on the old bootrom version or the new one ?
and if i'm on the old one how can i downgrade my baseband ??

Ipoe there is a program named idetector that tells you you're bootroom

Even thou its taken like a year, but musclenerd has come up with the goods
I finally downgraded my 6.15 baseband, with old bootrom and now GPS is working great
