Is CCleaner safe to use again? Wasn't it hacked or used for hacking a few months back?

Freeware and Windows sucks in every aspect. Use Linux and open source software.

Please elaborate what make you say freeware and Window don't match. I find many Windows freeware helpful and fulfilling specific needs at no cost.

Around 20 years a very small percentage of people didn't want to use a "mainstream" OS or tools that normal non super sophisticated computer gurus like themselves would have to rely on, so they used Linux. They felt that was something to brag about or that made them special in some positive way and went around telling everyone like vegans do today. Just like with vegans today, no one really gave a shit or understood.

Saying freeware sucks and to use open source software is gibberish. Just because something is freeware doesn't mean it's not open source, and if Windows sucked in every aspect it wouldn't be in use on billions of machines. Windows wasn't flawless, but neither was any OS. None of them are now. Better is a very relative term and depends on the need something is meeting, but Windows was at every turn the most widely capable and versatile OS. It still is. It's not very efficient because it can do damn near everything. It also had not just a direct impact on the entirety of global culture and technological adaptation and growth, but the largest impact of any software ever created. Before Windows the average human not working in a few skilled professional fields had zero knowledge on computer use even in theory and none first hand. Windows is what changed that. For most people Windows was how they learned what a computer is and how to use one. Windows was the home computer, the office computer, industrial and... everything. Windows flowed everywhere and did everything and taught people how a computer could make a job different and without it the places with more fitting OS in place wouldn't have it because they wouldn't have any idea what they'd need one to do. Without Windows everyone wouldn't be walking around with a smartphone, because without Windows humanity wouldn't be nearly as good at using technology. It led to more computers than had been believed possible being installed more places in more countries to people with more of a difference in living standard than had been believed possible. Those home Windows computers led to the first generation of kids who grew up using a computer. Do you get the importance of that? That it wasn't mainly focused on one country or only a few powerful countries, but that Windows and Microsoft working to spread globally caused this change to happen in a single generation? One generation back most people had never touched a computer. Parents were bad with them because they'd never used them, but growing up with technology makes it so much more intuitive. You learn it without even trying to and you keep that skill for life. Windows caused the change from one generation mostly having no computer experience to the next mostly being skilled in at least basic use and more highly skilled users than there had been among the adults of the generation before. Those kids are the ones who created Google and everything taking over today. Virtually every bit of technology we use today was invented in the last two decades. Windows did that.

I've never paid for any version of Windows, because growing up with it also taught us poor kids how to be pirates and get around things. Without Windows I might be paying for software. It deserves some real respect. :D
