To the best of my knowledge, you cannot convert a kfx file because it's more of a placeholder that tells the Kindle software where in the cloud to go to get the actual book when you want to read it. It doesn't actually save the book file to your computer or Kindle. That's why everyone who wants to share Kindle books had to downgrade to an earlier version of the software and turn off automatic software updates.

As far as I know, the last safe version is 1.15.00 from 3/30/16. I'm not sure if it is still available but you might be able to locate it on a 3rd party site.

Try again. I just looked it up now how I did it awhile ago & it was the second link that came out. Try using keywords such as kindle DRM & calibre.
