I’ll preface this by saying that I’m not usually big on short stories in general. I prefer a nice meaty novel usually.

However, lately I have delved into a few anthologies of short stories as part of ongoing series I am really into (the Ringo zombie apocalypse series, Correia’s Monster Hunter series and more recently his Target Rich Environment volume 1 & 2) and I have found a few new authors that I have seriously enjoyed reading that I otherwise never would have heard of or likely taken the time to take a deeper look. Faith Hunter and the Yellowrock and Soulwood series for example, and now Jonathan Maberry and the Joe Ledger series were brought to my attention by the Monster Hunter and Target Rich anthologies respectively and I’m hooked.

Anyone else use this method to find new reading material?
