You have nothing to worry about if you click the correct buttons in filehosts. As I said, the problem is on the user's side, so the solution is in this topic: .exe or Virus warning after downloading a file.

I've fixed the issue now. All instances of suprafiles.me with http on Mobilism will now show up as https instead.

Hi! Can someone clue me in about how to access audiobooks? I downloaded one .rar file @ 202,347 Kb. When I try to open it with VLC Media Player, it hangs and I have to kill it with the task manager. When I try to unpack the .rar archive with 7-Zip, I get the error message, "cannot open file" and it shows 0 file.

What's the secret sauce? Thanks for your help.

merry60 wrote:We've had a few instances where there was conflict between the versions of the software used to pack and unpack. Please see your PMs for more info.

Update: Problem solved. Thanks to merry60, I'm now using WinRAR to unpack the audio files, and kicking myself for wasting so much time before I asked for help. :)

I wonder if you can help me figure out why I am getting "wrong IP" when I try to download books.

Uploadocean and hulkload both do it and there are a couple others too.

I understand it may be on my end. Is there something I can do to rectify this? Thank you in advance.

Problem solved by using incognito mode in Chrome browser. Thank you Merry!

Uploads.to has been inaccessible for me for several days now. I get a 502 Bad Gateway from Cloudflare. However, when I check the site from isitdownrightnow.com, it says it's up. Is anyone else having this problem?

merry60 wrote:Everybody else is having this problem because uploads.to has been down for weeks. The error from Cloudflare is the clue, but we still check almost every day: http://images.mobilism.org/?di=QGFT1PED

Hi,
I've been having problems downloading from suprafiles and cloudyfiles. I complete Captcha and get a download link, but when I click to download, it doesn't connect through. Just hanging, no special messages or warnings.

Not sure I can help you with the hanging, but you can avoid the Captcha altogether (at both sites) by registering for a free account and staying logged in. You'll have to re-log in every few days though I think.

Edit - I totally forgot: you may have to disable ad-blockers (I did for Suprafiles, but only once - weird) to get the download started.

I've been trying to download some books by (author), and am finding an issue where the downloaded file is always the same two books, no matter what I am trying to download (not every file, but several). I've tried this on 3 different computers, randomly picking a file, and it is never what it says it sit should be. I have logged out and logged back in, too. They are not posted by the same people, either. Any ideas? Or should I post links here? Or message someone specific? Thanks

merry60 wrote:The most probable cause is that the name of the file is the same for more than one uploaded file by more than one person. So if you are using the Premium Downloader, the file fetched will always be the same. But yes please, do message someone specific (yours truly).

I've asked an OP twice now (18th Sept and 30th Sept) to re-up the links on one of their posts. I can see from their profile that they have been active, but my messages remain unread and the links haven't been updated. What should I do?

I've noticed lately that files d/l'd from uploadocean do not have proper file extensions (.epub, etc.). Is this a function of uploadocean or is it a fault with the uploader?

Fizban wrote:Well, the actual response is "We don't know" but we're certainly not aware of an ongoing issue with uploadocean. If it's ALL files from that filehost, it's definitely on their end. If it's just a few here and there, then our best guess would be that there is some form of punctuation in the filename, which the premium downloader does not recognize so it dl's the files as an octet stream. Adding the extension manually resolves this for the user and the majority of the time it's an epub or a rar extension. Only on rare occasions have we seen zip or mobi.

If it IS all files, then please let us know via PM so we can contact the filehost to see about resolving the issue. If it's just a few files, then please contact the OP or a moderator via PM and let them know about the issue so they can get the filename changed and resolve the issue permanently. Just remember to contact the OPs sparingly, like you would request a re-up.

The problem is with JDownloader. If I download directly from uploadocean, the file name and extension are just fine.
