The messages is as above in post #6 where I included a screenshot. It's definitely asking for .NET Compact Framework.

edidy, please note that .NET Framework is supposed to be installed on Windows PC while .NET Compact Framework is developed for Windows Mobile. since there's no specific way to distinguish a PPC executable file from its PC counterpart, it's recommended to run the keygen on your PC first and if you got an error message like "It's not a Win32 application.", copy it to your device and give it a go.
in this case, as Bendy already said, the keygen is a PC file. if you can't run it, you generally need to install the latest .NET Framework on your PC.

Question, is it necessary to install .net CF on the device memory or can it also run from the SD card.

i dont think you can change it, but im pretty sure it needs to be on device because it works pretty close with the os. but dont quote me on it :p

Tried installing 3.5 on SD card cos already got 2.0 SP2 in my ROM which cannot be uninstalled. Then tried a program that needs .net CF 3.5 called BattLog which previously won't run with SP2. So far seems to be working.

cool. you cant remove the .nt cf from your device, but when you installa new version, it will overwrite it

Tried, but it did not overwrite it. I end up having 2 version of .net CF installed. Checks by executing cgacutil.exe showed 2 version.

Guys, I installed Net Compact Framework v3.5 ( http://anonym.to/?http://rapidshare.com ... tupv35.msi ) because an app was asking for it (Sun-Moon Compass: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=3998&hilit=compass ). Or at least that's what I thought, since the error message when I try to install the app says: "Compass requires the installation of netcf.core.ppc3.arm.cab for it to run properly. install the CAB file before running this application". But after installing Net Compact Framework, the error window keeps coming up when I try to install Compass. I soft reseted after installing NCFv3.5. Maybe the app needs an earlier version of ncf?

Did you tried a soft reset after NetCF installation?

Yeah, I did. But now I'm thinking that maybe the problem is I installed Net Framework into my SD card... and not in the main program memory. Then I tried to install into the main program memory, but apparently it won't let me because of little space (eventhough I have 16MB free).

How do i check which .net version is installed on my device?
I'm using HTC Diamond with win 6.1.

I'm going to install FreeStylWM on my friends phone, and I don't want to Sync his up to my computer and then have it try to backup his stuff to be put on mine when I hook it up again.. LoL
