This is the third book in the saga of dark age Britain which finds Arthur king by right of drawing the sword, Caliburn, from the stone. Merlin, the king's adviser, is once again the narrator of this story.
Merlin 4 - The Wicked Day (1983):
Far from being the scourge of Arthur, his bastard son Mordred actually strives to resist Merlin's prophecy of doom. But he is thwarted by the schemes of his sorceress mother, Queen Morgause, who has brought him up to be her revenge incarnate.
Merlin 5 - The Prince and the Pilgrim (1995): Alexander, nephew of the murderous King March of Cornwall, seeks to avenge his father: but things do not go according to plan, particularly when the young prince's path leads him to the Dark Tower of the sorceress, Morgan le Fay, the evil focus of opposition to the High King Arthur.
