2. The Prince
Trysten's first fighting season as Dragoneer of the Aerona weyr proves to be dangerous and filled with threats from all sides. While preparing for more attacks from the Western kingdom, Trysten must deal with a prince who arrives to enforce the King's rules and take her title. As he looks into the mystery of the Second Horde, the Prince discovers the secret of Trysten's heritage. When it seems that Trysten is about to be sent away, Trysten and the Prince encounter a new danger in The Wilds, one that threatens Aerona and the entire kingdom. Despite the rules of the King and the might of the Prince, Trysten must be the Dragoneer she was born to be and prove that she is the rightful heir to the title once held by her father.
7. Emissaries
A tentative peace with the Opplian kingdom along with mountain passes choked with snow both suggest a quiet peaceful season for Trysten and the hordesmen of Aerona weyr. But don't get too comfortable. The royal family of Cadwaller pays a visit to oversee the completion of a deal with the Seelian kingdom to restore normal relations. But what the Seelians were promised is something Trysten and Elevera can't deliver. Tensions rise. The fate of the kingdom shifts. Clandestine deals threaten to plunge Cadwaller into chaos and bring famine to the dragons of Aerona. All as Exeris prepares for one last gambit. Being the dragoneer of Aerona weyr may not be enough. Trysten will need to be more. She and her dragon must rise above to set the stage for her greatest trial and final encounter with Exeris.
8. Elevera
Trysten and the villagers of Aerona deal with a stranger dropped in the den by Exeris. She warns Trysten of an approaching enemy, one that is impervious to the bows of the horde and Trysten's command of the dragons. But the stranger also has a plan to defeat Exeris once and for all. If she can be trusted. What was fated to be no longer is. Destinies fall into dust. And as Aerona grapples with an enemy unlike any faced before, Trysten must prove that she is willing to sacrifice anything to save the village, the weyr, and those she loves.
