2. Sky Touched
As the children of Stone, Sea and Sky struggle to master their powers, the inhuman denizens of the Abyss begin to move… Despite his efforts to suppress it, the power of Stone is awakening in Fen. The power is wild and implacable, and Fen knows it is only a matter of time before others learn his secret, and he loses everything. Unless his power kills him as it killed his father. Meanwhile, dark practitioners with unnatural powers have arrived in Samkara, and the Fist has fallen under their sway. Aislin’s power is cold and remote like the Sea it comes from. The strange old man she meets in Qarath might be able to help Aislin discover her humanity, but if he can’t the whole city could be in danger. For Aislin has learned how to summon something huge and powerful from the depths of the sea. When a ritual goes wrong Karliss learns how dangerous and deadly his power can be. Now Karliss has to learn to master his power without succumbing to the madness that afflicts those who get too close to the power of the Sky. And he has to do it before the Guardian Kasai destroys his clan.
3. Sea Born
The fragments of the Key begin to surface… After saving the woman he loves from the dark sorcerers of Ankhara, Fen realizes for the first time that his power can be a force for good. But the power is wild and uncontrollable and he doesn’t have long before it devours him as it did his father. His only hope is to summon one of the ancient Shapers and convince it to teach him what he needs to know. Aislin has kept the secret of the strange artifact she found in the alien underground vault. But her secret is not as safe as it seems. The agents of the Devourers know what she has found and they will threaten everyone she loves if she doesn’t give it to them. The Guardian Kasai has created new, more powerful warriors to threaten Karliss and his clan. As powerful as Karliss is, he knows he will inevitably lose to Kasai. Seeing no other options, he conceives a desperate plan to retrieve the lost words of power, but their origins are shrouded in legend and to track them down he and his companions will have to complete a dangerous quest.
4. Chaos Trapped
Poisoned by the shadow creature Ilsith, Fen can no longer summon the power of Stone. When the Ankharan sorcerers falsely accuse him of treason, he is imprisoned, and now faces execution as a traitor. His only hope is if he can get through to the Fist and help him see what is really happening in his kingdom. But the Fist is corrupted by chaos power and he only listens to the sorcerers. Will Fen recover his power and get through to the man who is like a father to him, or will he die on the executioner's block? Karliss and his clan face increased attacks by the Guardian Kasai. Karliss' power over the wind and the aranti, elemental creatures that live within the wind, is growing, but now he faces a threat from within his own clan. Henta, a clan elder, is convinced that the attacks are because he has angered the gods and she wants him exiled. Karliss hatches a bold, and perhaps reckless, plan to destroy Kasai for good. Aislin's power has grown beyond all expectations. Now she must learn how to control it or risk endangering everyone she loves. Consumed by this, she is unprepared when the surprise attack comes. And all the while Lowellin and the Ankharan sorcerers continue their efforts to open the Abyss and free the Devourers...
5. Shadow Hunted
The Devourers have broken free of the Abyss and Fen's power is useless against them. Hunted mercilessly by the Devourers and their sorcerous allies, his only allies captives, Fen seems to be out of options until an offer of help comes from an unlikely source. Will Fen be able to join forces with Aislin and Karliss before he is cut down by the Devourers? Or will they manage to get their hands on the last piece of the key and free the Queen of Chaos?
6. Power Forged
The three young heroes are defeated. The Devourers have the key. All is lost… Except that something is missing. The key doesn’t work. The Dragon Queen is still trapped. With help from an unlikely source, Fen, Karliss and Aislin escape. If they can get to the last piece before the Devourers do, they might still stop them. There’s just one problem… Only Othen, a Shaper unlike any of the others, knows where it is, and he hasn’t been seen in centuries. Pursued relentlessly by demonic creatures summoned from the Abyss, the three heroes set out on a desperate quest to find the final piece and stop the Queen before she devours their world.
