Hello everyone!
I've never listened to an audiobook and I'd like to try, I'm juste wondering:
do you guys listen to your audiobooks simply on itunes or some other music app? Because I would totally get lost in the book if I do that...is there any way to add our downloaded ebooks to apps such as audible and be able to speed the audio if needed and keep track of when we stopped? Or is there any app that let's you add manually your audiobooks? (as opposed to apps who only lets you buy audiobooks from your account and then add it to your library)

Thank you :)

I haven't personally done much research on different apps, but I'm on iOS and use what's called Bookmobile.
I like it because it does a decent job at keeping bookmarks of where the audio left off. I like that you can customize/edit every file you add.
Adding files wirelessly from your computer is super easy too as long as your computer and phone are on the same wifi network. There's an easy option listed when you tap the PLUS sign in the middle of the app and choose local through browser. Type in the temporary address and you can "upload" songs to the app

try this : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.BookAMP.android.app
It's free. I wrote it myself.

I couldn't find any FREE android audiobook player that allows me to change the playback speed, auto-saved progress and adding notes on particular duration. Probably I didn't look hard enough.

I don't feel like paying for it, as i thought I could write it myself and it should be simple. so, I ended up writing my own audiobook player apps.

Adding notes is useful if I use it to listen to class recording. I can mark duration when a particular topic is discussed.

Please give it a try, hope it's useful. any bugs... feel free to PM or email me.

Listen Audiobook Player is without doubt the best on Android. The playlist is editable, the player screen has adaptable colours depending on the audiobook. You can add several folders that store the books and it updates automatically & instantly. Book cover download :

Simple Audiobook Player is what I use. Equalizer, variable speed, play lists, bookmarks, and a sleep timer. Free version at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mdmt.sabp.free
