I'd like to purchase an ebook on amazon. I've never bought an ebook before. If I do so, will I have access to the .mobi file to do what I want with?

In other words, I'd like to legitimately purchase the book, and also have the file indefinitely. Thanks in advance!

I also dont have any experience to buy ebooks, but I am too curious to know from people buy ebooks.

I download my purchased books into Calibre and remove the DRM. That way if Amazon removes a book from my Kindle I still have the copy in my Calibre folder on my laptop, and can edit it as I see fit.
