Has anyone read The Kite Runner? I'm reading it right now for school and I just want to know what you guys think about it.

For me one of the best books i've read in the last five years. Cant wait for his next book: And the Mountains Echoed. You should read A Thousand Splendid Suns too. Both brilliant books. Just loved it.

It's one of the best books I've read. Still can't forget the story. I cried a lot while reading it too. :)

It was fantastic. Not at all boring. but maybe hard to write essays about it.

For me it is just a cunning novel. The best effort of a writing school student, no more than that.

It definitely connects to the reader. Though Amir is unlikable in every sense, we still end up in his corner. Also, since I've read all three of Hosseini's books, without spoiling anything it seems that he has a penchant for halfheartedly happy endings. Each book...it really leaves me with ambivalence towards each novel.

I really liked the first 80% of the novel, but the last part fell short for me, it seemed more forcefully dramatic than plausible realism, and brings to mind the "universe-shrinking" notion of protagonists in books/films/television.

That being said, I absolutely loved Khaled Hosseini's "A Thousand Splendid Suns".

The best novel I ever read. Do not miss Khaled Hosseini's other two books.
