I recently bought a book that dealt with this type of scenario and found that I enjoyed it (to my surprise). I am looking for titles of other ones along the same lines where life goes back to building and creating a civilization from scratch. No technology. I would prefer to not have zombies roaming about and that type of thing, just a life do-over.

Any suggestions?

Well, the grandaddy of them all - Earth Abides by George R. Stewart first comes to mind. Then there are:

Farnham's Freehold by Robert A. Heinlein (One of my favorites - I just wish he had done a sequel to it)
The Postman by David Brin
Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle
On The Beach by Nevil Shute
One Second After by William Forstchen
All of the Nantucket and Emberverse series books by S.M. Stirling
Level 7 by Mordecai Roshwald
Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank
When Worlds Collide & After Worlds Collide by Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer

Just to name a few to get you started. :D

Ok, the grandaddy of them all - in my eyes. The OP is asking for post-apocalyptic books. To me, The Time Machine really doesn't qualify as post-apocalyptic - I see it as more of a, well, time-travel book.
But I should have remembered John Wyndham's Day of the Triffids, as well as The Night of the Triffids. :?

Most post apocalyptic books are either zombie or YA.

But, there is an excellent book out there (and not a bad movie either): The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

Russel Hoban: "Riddley Walker"
...quoting a review:
Set in a post-apocalyptic England, RIDDLEY WALKER tells the tale of one twelve year old boy and his journey through the ruins of civilisation. After the death of his father in an accident, Riddley must become a man. But his inquiring mind and strange ways set him apart from his people, and when he discovers a relic of the old time, he sets in motion a chain of events that may well lead to the end of the world (again). Written in a remarkable and rewarding language, RIDDLEY WALKER is a tour-de-force of imagination, history and psychology. Challenging and rewarding, this is a book that repays rereading again and again. There's a reason why the reviews were so good, and why so many authors cite it as an inspiration. It is, quite frankly, a masterpiece.

Along the same lines as King's The Stand, is Robert McCammon's Swan Song. Both are wonderful books.

Eternity Road by Jack McDevitt. A great quest novel.
Three Californias by Kim Stanley Robinson - The Wild Shore, The Gold Coast and Pacific Edge. You're gonna have to find the dead tree version of these, I don't think that an ebook has been published or scanned.

Bo, I agree 100% with you: Alas, Babylon is one forgotten gem.

Y'all read it if you haven't.

If you like a little bit of zoombies you can read DJ Molles the remaining. I thought that series was good. You can also read a new world series by John O'brien.
