Since getting a pixel, I had no reason to use anything other than its own launcher.

On my old phone it was Nova, which is also excellent

Have tried everything and always come back to Nova Launcher. Don`t trust me unless your try and practicing using it.

Few days back i started to test launchers because i am bored with one i have
Maybe i didn't test well but i noticed one "problem" with a lot of launchers (nova for example). you can't have home screen free of widgets. other words you can't move widgets to another screen and than have home screen free to see for example beautiful images of your children etc. which is a feature i don't (personally) like it. i always try to setup my screen with new launchers to see that kind of behaviour. if it fails on that i don't care about other stuff...
