I downloaded the UK 885.4058 map and unzipped it. Ran the keygen program which added a United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-527.meta.dct file. I copied over the mapsettings.cfg along with the speedcamera files. from the UK 880.3086 folder. These are all stored on my PC. Finally I connected my HTC HD2 as a External Disk Drive. I deleted the UK 880.3086 folder in the root of the SD Card of the HTC HD2 and placed the UK 885.4058 folder from the PC to the root of the SD Card of the HTC HD2. Disconnect and test TomTom - everything runs fine.
Thanks for your advice.
I have found an older backup of my mapsettings.cfg and this one works OK, so the one from my previous map must be corrupted.
I think I may know why.
Normally I remove my microSD from my Touch HD and install the new map from my PC via USB.
I then activate the map using easyusetools "RunMeforAllAutomatic.cmd" I then install the SD back into my PDA and run TOMTOM.
I then connect the SD to my PC again to add the mapsettings.cfg and speed cameras then activate again as before.
This works for me every time.
With this latest map change, I made the mistake of adding the speed cameras to the Map folder before the initial activation, this is when I think my .cfg became corrupted, as the map didn't activate at this attempt and I had to start again from the beginning.
For a reason not known to me, you cannot make the initial activation with the speed cameras added to the map folder.
