Google Home has DNS set to use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - and its own spotify binary in it's firmware. Instead of using Spotify connect to connect to your google home, just use your device cast feature and you won't get ads as you'll be casting the audio straight from your phone/tablet.

Works fine here
If your upgrading your Spotify app use sd maid to uninstall it then install new version
That should fix some of your issues

Yes this is something new Spotify have enabled for the past 2 minor versions. Use an older version and it`s fine as before.
What`s the last version without this problem?

Thank you very much for the update once again. As I did not see it mentioned in the description, I wonder if it is/would be possible to be able to choose a specific song for an alarm in the clock app of google. Thx again for the mod :)
