Mine updated just fine, maybe you're using a modded apk from another author.

No. Its saying that I need to subscribe. It`s not modded.

Hmm, it does seem like some features are not modded while most are. For example, pressing menu -> play next on a song does bring up the subscription dialog. I am aware that download and hi-fi features have been server-side and not working for some time but to my knowledge 'play next' has always worked except in this mod. I am using the x86-64 version and this issue may not be present in the other architectures.

Anyone know how I can cast it to chromecast and have this version work rather than the chromecast version with advertisement ? thanks

I had the same problem, I could not play next, it shows a subscription page. I rolled back to version 6.2.12.102 and now I can.

I'm still using v6.1.23.93 and it plays HQ audio just fine.
