but I do not like that Contest - Threads get deleted without informing the regular participating users.
What pisses me most of is that the person acts as if nothing happened.

To me this is very disrespectful and I still do not know why the Thread got deleted.

Uran, if you think it is easy to run all this without making a mistake once in a while, you don't know me. I'm only human, be it one that does everything that is in my hands to make this site enjoyable for all of you. Yes, it's true that I tend to experiment with posts and topics, and had already some surprises in the past. And yes, it's true that my partner reminds me frequently I should do backups...

I'm very sorry and do what I can to pick up where we crashed. OK?

You're still in I hope... we need you!

Guy1731,
now I feel sorry. So many kind words.
I just liked that Contest and the idea was really funny. Maybe this is the reason why I was a little sad (not the only one probably ;) )
Mistakes happen every day even to me so it is no problem at all anymore.

And..., of course, I am still in :D

I personally hate vbulletin. I wish that all the vbulliten forums i'm on would change to PHP. I just think they're a lot more limited.

Just wondering, what made you say we should change to vBulletin? I'm interested to hear reasoning.

I personally like phpBB because the code is easier to read and modify and it makes logical sense, whereas vBulletin makes no sense, and I don't like their modification process. Currently with phpBB, I can make a modification, which affects no original files, and make it display in the admin/moderator cp, this makes updating the core software to a newer version alot easier than if the modifications were done directly to the core software itself, such as vBulletins way of modifying.

Its great but i think it will be perfect if they transform into a Torrent Tracker, and not depending on external sites as rapidshare,MU,etc.
And everyone could aport her Bandwitch. :D

We would be a bigger target if we were a torrent tracker.

Would it be possible to allow small attachments (espec. .rar-files, like max size 4-5 MB)
Or would this explode the traffic costs?

Not only that, but people would start misusing it by hosting warez on the site (keygens, cracks, etc. are usually small); now that could lead to trouble.

okay, I thought linking to warez software would be kinda illegal, too. But if there are differences I can understand that for sure.

Posting tools are horrible.
The most important thing I hate is phpBB user control panel.
Can you change the posting tools to this?:

Some people don't like the vbulletin UCP layout, and the vbulletin ACP and MCP layouts are terrible in my opinion. The UCP is not something you need to access every day, but the ACP and MCP are something mods and admins have to use multiple times on a daily basis, and the mod and admin team prefer the one they're currently working with.

I have started a poll here to see what happens: viewtopic.php?p=325690#325690
