search only 3 letters?

is it possible to change the search function to 3 letters?
e.g: "htc" or "spb"?

yup, i would like that too. :D
but then one possible draw back could be words such as 'the' 'and' 'for' etc yielding results.

The way the search works is with wildcards, you search for a small word, and it finds more results, making them less accurate and putting a higher load on the database. If you want to search small words, put them in quotations, for example "spb pocket plus".

it has happened to me when i would like to see all the htc apps, or all the spb apps. but cant do it as of right now.

Your question was great, because i have also the problem when i search for iGO that nothing will happen, but also aeroiceman is right. :(

but you can with wildcards

so htc* or spb*

htc* has 123 results spb* has 149 results

I have changed the search engine type to native, and I am building the index now, this allows searching of 3 letters, before a 'common' word was if it appeared in 5% of posts, I have changed this to 50%, so words like SPB and iGO should yield results once the index is rebuilt.
