I'm getting a square screen device soon and it's almost impossible to know which one works with which resolutions.

Could something like "Supported resolutions" be added somewhere in the release? I'm willing to help if necessary.

If people simply labeled their releases properly this wouldn't be an issue, then you'd just search for the right category.

Standard (320x240)=QVGA
Square Standard (320x320)=SQVGA
Higher Res (640x480)=VGA
Widescreen Higher Res (800x480 I think)=WVGA

These are standard denotations, so a release would be eg: "KinomaPlay QVGA" or "BetaPlayer QVGA" that way all you have to do is search for QVGA and bingo! all the relevant software. Enforcing a new release rule is certainly easier than reorganizing and recataloguing all the software. Just my humble opinion.
