SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #229 TRIFECTA

For tonight’s horse racing, we were in Harrah's Louisiana Downs, a horse racing track and casino located in Bossier City in northwestern Louisiana.
The 6th race was the one we were watching today and it was a firm track with a distance of seven and one half furlongs on the turf.

As we know, horses can be scratched (or removed) from a race due to injury or other factors prior to post time.

Two horses in Race #6 were scratched prior to the race today…

We had a surprising finish today since the horses with the WORST odds placed in the TOP 3
Both Budro Talking and Judge N Ruler didn’t even feature in anyone’s picks…gee, I wonder why

I watched the race and it was simply unbelievable...
Going into the final turn, our three favorites were all in a position to win, leading the pack and looking like we were going to have a repeat of the last race where all three top horses finished 1-2-3

But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Budro came up on the outside from deep in the back, and just ran like the wind. It made the other horses look like they were standing still.
Even though Chocolateicecream looked like it might hang on, Budro Talking seemed to go even faster as they approached the finish line, and no photo finish was even required.
During all of this, Judge N Ruler also picked up the pace and managed to sneak into third.
Everybody was simply stunned.

And even though Budro Talking started as a 15 to 1 long shot, the final odds at post time were 55 to 1, with a 2 dollar win bet paying $109.80
A $.50 Trifecta bet paid 978.70

It was one of those races worth watching

For the Thursday contest, we have another edition of Thursday Night Football OVER/UNDER

For those that don't remember, OVER/UNDER is a classic betting term. It's a bet that has nothing to do with who will win the game. Instead, you are betting on whether the TOTAL number of points (or goals, or runs, or whatever) scored by BOTH TEAMS will be OVER or UNDER a certain target number. So when you hear somebody say, "the over/under for this football game is 39.5, that means the target number is 39.5
Anybody betting the OVER is betting that a total of 40 or more points will be scored by both teams in the game
Anybody betting the UNDER is betting that a total of 39 or less points will be scored by both teams in the game

For this edition of OVER/UNDER, we will be asking you to make two predictions
First, you have to predict who will win the game
Second, you have to predict whether the total number of points scored by both teams will be OVER or UNDER the target number
To win your share of the pool, you have to correctly predict BOTH
