Manaea Produces First No-hitter of the 2018 MLB Season
https://sports.yahoo.com/sean-manaea-st ... on-brknews
In the history books, it will only read that Oakland Athletics left-hander Sean Manaea pitched the season’s first no-hitter against Major League Baseball’s hottest team, the Boston Red Sox.
To those who saw it, a few more questions will linger after a couple controversial plays allowed Manaea’s historic outing to continue. But they should not take away entirely from a masterful performance that undoubtedly overwhelmed Bostons’s previously red-hot bats.

With Friday’s 5-0 win over the Minnesota Wild, the Winnipeg Jets have made it into the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since returning to the city in 2011.
The excitement is bringing Manitobans together -- literally.
Winnipeg Police were forced to close the downtown intersection of Portage and Main on Friday night, as approximately 36,000 people crowded into downtown to watch the game, including roughly 15,000 at the sold-out game inside the Bell MTS Centre.
There were 12 people arrested for public intoxication but “no serious incidents” or reports of property damage, despite the unusually large number of people downtown.
Next up, the Jets will take on either the Nashville Predators or Colorado Avalanche in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

'Does cricket make money in order to exist, or does it exist in order to make money?'
In the last three years, cricket has changed more completely than in the preceding three decades, revolutionised by a racy new format, Twenty20, and a glamorous new competition, the Indian Premier League. How did India come to run world cricket? How did clubs owned by billionaires and Bollywood stars begin to shove international competition aside? How did money unite players and divide administrators, amid allegations of massive corruption?
Gideon Haigh has followed cricket's biggest story since Kerry Packer's 'World Series' from the beginning: 'Sphere of Influence' is the result. This insightful collection brings the struggle to save cricket's soul into sharp and disturbing focus.

26 people played...
Here are the Results:
Gervonta Davis crushed Jesus Cuellar in 3 rounds
Adrien Broner vs. Jessie Vargas went the full 12 rounds, AND ENDED IN A MAJORITY DRAW
And since the rules state that a Draw in either match means that nobody wins...
ENOUGH SAID
However, somebody did correctly guess that the first fight would go 3 rounds...
So wellwhocares will get the 50 WRZ$ Bonus
At least somebody besides the Honest Bookie gets something out of this.

It seems a little too quiet around here... So, time for a SPORTS QUICKIE
I was going to do game 6 of the Ice vs. Griffins series, but the game was cancelled due to bad weather.
Bad weather continues to plague Canada and the Northern states of the US. It's been a terrible spring, with many baseball games being cancelled. A game in Toronto was called due to bad weather, and IT'S A DOMED STADIUM. Large chunks of ice falling from Toronto's CN Tower punctured the roof of the stadium, causing the postponement.
So lets move to another series in the SC League from a part of the world where it's warmer.
This is game three in a series of exhibition games between:
The Cosmos won the first two games in this series... and now the Pink Elephants are looking for revenge.
And YEAH, these are imaginary games... but it does make it easier for me look up the results
Ice has provided the random numbers that will be used for this best of 7 exhibition series.
So the question is...
How many runs did the Australia Cosmos score in this imaginary game against the India Pink Elephants?
I will tell you that it was between 0 and 9 runs.
You may answer with any number from 0 to 9
And as is tradition, no duplicate picks
So in this contest, since only 10 answers are available, only 10 people will be allowed.
What is it?
Pick how many runs the Australia Cosmos scored in this imaginary game
How do you play?
To enter this contest, you will need to post the following:
SPORTS QUICKIE
a number 0 thru 9
EXAMPLE POST
SPORTS QUICKIE
5
Rules:
Just pick a number from 0 - 9
Only the first 10 posters with DIFFERENT PICKS will be entered
No Duplicates allowed
Only 1 post per person for this specific contest, any more and all of your posts will be disallowed.
If a post is edited, the time of the edit will determine who actually has what number.
The contest will "end" when all the numbers have been picked or I think nobody else is around to play
If all the numbers haven't been picked, the honest bookie will get some numbers
Reward:
If you guess correctly, you win 50 WRZ$
It's that simple... So pick and be quick.
Because this is a SPORTS QUICKIE

And it continues to be quiet... Only six people in half an hour.
Well, plenty of numbers left, and all the time in the world.
