SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #480 PROP BETS



For this years edition of NFL DRAFT PROP BETS, we asked you to answer YES or NO to seven questions
And here is what happened in this years NFL DRAFT

1. Will Kyler Murray (Quarterback) be the first overall player taken? (83%)
This was looking like a sure thing a week before the draft. But then, a lot of rumors started flying from the Arizona camp that they weren't going to do it. But in the end, it was all a smoke screen to see if they could get something good in trade for their current QB... Didn't happen! So they took their QB of the future
The Correct Answer was YES

2. Will Nick Bosa (Defensive End) be selected first or second overall (75%)
I was surprised to see this was only a 75% selection. I should have bet the mortgage on it
EVERY expert I saw said he would go at number 2, and he did
The Correct Answer was YES

3. Will the last player selected in the first round be a Defensive Player (55%)
Going into the draft, New England had the last pick, and that's what made this one interesting to call.
New England had plenty of needs on defense, and have a history of making trades, so who knew if they were still going to have this pick when it came to them. But some of the experts said they would keep the pick and take N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State. And they did
The Correct Answer was NO

4. Will 15 or more Offensive players be taken in the first round (50%)
The experts were saying that this would be the year of the Defense. And the over/under was really close to the eventual outcome. But only 14 offensive players were taken out of the 32 picks...
The Correct Answer was NO

5. Will Dwayne Haskins (Quarterback) be taken before the 11th pick (53%)
This one looked like a sure thing. Most experts thought the Giants would take him with the 6th overall pick since they were desperate for a QB. In addition, in many other mock drafts, 3 teams were considering trading up to a top 10 pick for him, including Washington. But then, the Giants passed on him and took a different QB (the video of his reaction when the Giants took another QB is priceless) and nobody traded up, so he fell to Washington at their 15th pick, dooming Haskins to at least four years of QB hell in Washington.
The Correct Answer was NO

6. Will Ed Oliver (Defensive Tackle) be taken before the 7th pick (50%)
This one came as a surprise too as Oliver fell to Buffalo with the 9th pick. Many of the mock drafts had him going at 6.
But, there were some concerns as some scouts were claiming he was " high-maintenance" and Buffalo ended up getting what many are saying is the "steal of the draft"
The Correct Answer was NO

7. Will 3 or more players from Clemson (the college) be taken in the first round (50%)
The over/under was 2.5, and as usual, it was close. 3 players from Clemson were taken in the first round, but there was little suspense since the third was taken by the 17th overall pick.
The Correct Answer was YES

PREMIER LEAGUE - SATURDAY
This Daily Double starts of with Soccer.
Brighton 41% vs. Newcastle 28% + DRAW 31% = 59%
While Brighton is favored, when we throw in the Premier League "a draw is considered a win by the lesser team" rule, it changes this whole match around...

IPL - SUNDAY
For the second half of this Daily Double, the focus shifts to Cricket.
Delhi Capitals 51% vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore 49%
We don't need no stinkin Draw rule to make this one a close match
