SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #60
TRIFECTA

As they came out of the last turn and headed for home, E Z Larry and Spectacular One were fighting it out, but then on the outside, The Great Lebowski came from the back of the back and just blew by everybody on the outside, winning in a photo finish.
And for any that might have missed our Fearless Leader's Entry...

So here are the official results.
WIN - The Great Lebowski
PLACE - E Z Larry
SHOW - Spectacular One

I'm not going to list all the winners since there are way too many of them, and people won a total of 2005 WRZ$
But I do want to mention that:
15 shared the 1000 WRZ$ pool for 67 WRZ$ each
9 earned an additional 25 WRZ$ for having 2 horses in the Top Three
4 simply earned the 25 WRZ$ bonus for having 2 horses, even though their Top Horse wasn't in the Top Three
And 13Ice hit the TRIFECTA and claimed the 700 WRZ$ Trifecta Pool
Congratulations to all the winners!
There will be more TRIFECTAS in the future ;)

It seems a little too quiet around here... So, time for a SPORTS QUICKIE

So lets do a game in this series...

This is game four in a series of exhibition games between:

Image

The Cosmos won the first two games in this series... but the Pink Elephants won the last game, but still trail in this series.
And YEAH, these are imaginary games... but it does make it easier for me look up the results
Ice has provided the random numbers that will be used for this best of 7 exhibition series.
So the question is...
How many runs did the Australia Cosmos score in this imaginary game against the India Pink Elephants?
I will tell you that it was between 0 and 9 runs.

You may answer with any number from 0 to 9
And as is tradition, no duplicate picks
So in this contest, since only 10 answers are available, only 10 people will be allowed.

What is it?
Pick how many runs the Australia Cosmos scored in this imaginary game

How do you play?
To enter this contest, you will need to post the following:
SPORTS QUICKIE
a number 0 thru 9

EXAMPLE POST
SPORTS QUICKIE
5

Rules:
Just pick a number from 0 - 9
Only the first 10 posters with DIFFERENT PICKS will be entered
No Duplicates allowed
Only 1 post per person for this specific contest, any more and all of your posts will be disallowed.
If a post is edited, the time of the edit will determine who actually has what number.
The contest will "end" when all the numbers have been picked or I think nobody else is around to play
If all the numbers haven't been picked, the honest bookie will get some numbers ;)

Reward:
If you guess correctly, you win 50 WRZ$

It's that simple... So pick and be quick.
Because this is a SPORTS QUICKIE

Being down 2 games to 1 was more than enough motivation for the Pink Elephants in this game
Like the last game, they came out smoking, and while the Cosmos did manage to score some runs, the Pink Elephants scored 7 runs.
It was and easy win for the Pink Elephants

Image
FINAL SCORE PINK ELEPHANTS 7 - COSMOS 3

And that ties this series up at two games each.

While it was kind of a slow event... XiLeXi was accurate, correctly picking that the Cosmos would only score 3 runs, so we have our winner of this SPORTS QUICKIE

CONGRATULATIONS

And stay tuned... another Sports Quickie is in the future.

Anzac Day clash is a great AFL tradition, but it should not just be Collingwood and Essendon

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-04-24/a ... tion=sport

The AFL has walked such a fine line on social issues that, sometimes, it is difficult to tell whether it is a good corporate citizen or an opportunistic cause merchant.

As Fairfax Media reported on the weekend, two new documentaries about the disgraceful treatment of Adam Goodes will remind us how the AFL failed to live up to its rhetoric on Indigenous affairs because it did not want to upset the supporters who racially vilified the Sydney Swans champion.

But in celebrating Anzac Day at a packed MCG, the AFL has generally been in tune with the sentiment of the public and — most importantly — of the military and their families.

Perhaps this is because the Collingwood versus Essendon game grew from a relatively simple idea hatched by the Bombers legendary coach Kevin Sheedy in consultation with his Magpie counterparts, and gained the immediate approval of the Victorian RSL.

This was first and foremost a commemoration, not a branding exercise.
