IIHF SUPPORT YOUR TEAM

For this contest we looked at five matchups in the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships featuring Sports Center supported teams. To win all we had to do was predict how many of the “home teams” would win. The supported teams are in bold and red.

GAME ONE
Denmark vs USA


Alex DeBrincat registered two goals and an assist and Patrick Kane added three assists as the U.S. Men's National Team defeated Denmark, 7-1.

GAME TWO
Canada vs. Germany


Canada extended its winning streak in blowout fashion Saturday at the world hockey championship. Mark Stone had a hat trick and Anthony Mantha scored twice in an 8-1 victory over Germany at the Steel Arena. Sam Reinhart, Thomas Chabot and Anthony Cirelli added singles in Canada’s fourth straight win.

GAME THREE
Great Britain vs. Slovakia


Pete Russell's team were left searching for their first points still after a 7-1 defeat to hosts Slovakia. GB suffered a sixth straight defeat at the World Championships leaving them hoping their final game against France will give them a chance to clinch survival.

GAME FOUR
Austria vs. Czech Republic


Michal Repík scored twice to pace the Czech offense in a rout of Austria. It's the second consecutive 8-0 win for the six-time world champions, who beat Italy by the same score Friday.

GAME FIVE
France vs. Finland


Finland maintained its place atop Group A with a win in an unexpectedly close game against France. The Lions controlled the pace of play throughout, highlighted by their 47-21 advantage in shots but French goalie Florian Hardy made 44 stops to keep the underdogs within striking distance. It wasn't until Jere Sallinen made it 3-0 with less than eight minutes left the three points felt secure.

St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks


The Blues moved within one win of ending their 49-year Stanley Cup Final drought by defeating the San Jose Sharks 5-0 to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference final. Jaden Schwartz scored three times Sunday for his second hat trick of the postseason to lead the Blues, who dominated the game from start to finish.

Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks


Talk about an exciting game! We had not just one but TWO overtimes where the Raptors stole the win. Kawhi Leonard scored 36 points to lift the Raptors to a 118-112 thrilling double-overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, throwing Toronto a lifeline in the Eastern Conference finals. The Raptors trail Milwaukee 2-1 in the best-of-seven series heading into Tuesday’s Game 4.
