matina, quiet day up here. Confirmed my various appointments and am now going to catch up on some overdue e-mails. Will write more news later.

Katy, 16 degrees here, but I managed to soak up some sunshine this morning, while Sunnya prowled the backyard. Once again, Rishi decided to sleep in until about lunch time . . . Nice to hear that you still have some camellias blooming. Waiting for more autumn leaves here. Enjoy your shopping! Thanks for your good wishes.

Fatima, thanks for the latest news and the puppy photo. On my way to my appointment yesterday, I walked past the new premises of the 'Cat Defence Op Shop' in downtown Katoomba (previously photographed) and thought about what a great job they're doing.

matina, up to 10 degrees here now . . . a bit cloudy and I'm wondering if it will rain. Just swept and hosed down my driveway and porch entryway. Both fuzzies are sitting here with me; I just gave them some treats. Whoops! Rishi just jumped up in my lap . . .

Katy, Rishi has left again for her own recliner chair. Was hard to type with her sitting here! Hope you're enjoying a happy Saturday.

Hi everyone

Good morning Pj don't you just love these kind of Indian summer days lots of gardenias are blooming in the neighbours garden, the smell can be a little overwhelming when there are so many so I didn't stay outside long this morning its was giving me a headache we have the gutters being cleaned tomorrow ,after all the rain and storms they're quite full of bark and leaves we have 2 huge gum trees just behind us have a restful Sunday Pj Cuddles to the girls from me matina how are you, we are off for a BBQ with the kids later hugs always xo Happy weekend all

My three small lemon trees are now producing dozens of lemons . . . some are nearly ripe.

Hi Pj wow look at your lemons , I bought lemons at the farmers market they were gorgeous straight off the tree 50c a bag, yet the supermarkets charge triple that and they're awful looking i tried to grow a lemon in a pot yeah didn't turn out just died my parents retired to country Qld, the farmers had an honour system where they would put produce on the back of a truck with a lock box and you would pay what you think, i remember stopping while visiting i asked the local farmer did people always pay he said country folk always do hmm wouldn't happen in the city I bet 24c sunny gorgeous day i hope all is well in the mountains take care matina busy wolf as usual mwah laundry time have a good day everyone

matina, firewood just arrived. I've been sitting in the sun in my driveway, waiting for the truck. The driverturned out to be a Kiwi, from south of Auckland, and we had a great talk about NZ, my brother delivering firewood in Maine, etc. I always find the New Zealanders quite friendly and likeable. Have visited over there nearly a dozen times over the years. PM coming soon.

Katy, yes, a beautiful day up here, now up to 16 degrees. I think it went down to 4 last night. Anyhow, I have my firewood! I bought the best quality ironback this year. My brother sells his Christmas trees the way those QLD famers sold their lemons. His asking price is always about half of what the big dealers charged, and it's always on the honour system. The locals always wait for his trees and snap them up quickly. This past year I think either my brother and his son went out in back of his house another two times and cut more trees. Because of the 'snow fertilizer' in the winter, they grow very quickly and have to be thinned out.

Hi everyone

diva good to see proof of life for you matina you too are you glued to the couch today I've got the school run this afternoon all the parents are happy school holidays are over they were shoving the kids out of the cars this morning made me laugh Hi Pj thats a lot of wood i hope they stack it for you im hoping you don't do it yourself do you i may do a little gardening while its so nice outside but coffee first then ill think about moving hugs always everyone

matina, autumn has really arrived here in the upper Blue Mountains. I'll have to make a few little trips this week and take pictures of some of the beautiful trees . . . not that I don't have a few around my house. Sitting here waiting for my young electrician to come with his apprentice and install my three new smoke detectors.

Katy, all well here and I'm sure that a great many mothers are relieved to see the schools open again. In my teaching and school principal days, it was the other way around for me! My new ironbark firewood burns very, very well and I finally had to open my screen door at about 11 pm last night, to air out my living room! It was just too hot . . . Sunnya especially loves the fire, though.

Hope everyone here at CC&BC is well. Will be back later with a picture of a new smoke detector (I hope), although I doubt that it will make a very exciting picture.

MY HUMBLEST APOLOGIES for being missing in action. had a very busy week.
Fatima what beautiful girl she is give her lots of hugs from us all.
PJ wow that is a lot of wood but i know it is only one of 3 possible 4 deliveries as i know wood heaters can go through quite a bit. it sure is nice but i am so glad we got rid of our potbelly stove heater 1 the wood pieces had to be small half the size of yours. 2 plus the mess of cleaning out the ash afterwards. the upside it was so nice and cosy and the crackling made you so cosy and sleepy and ours was a iron pot belly so you could cook on it too a nice soup simmering all day and some crusty bread and butter with it was an awesome meal.
how are the folks in Maine going? Any news on the halter monitor test and blood test?
Kathy enjoy the peace and quiet and yes it is a home day today for me i don't want to move today. I need some keys cut so i may do that tomorrow afternoon see how i am feeling. i make NO Promises

Hi matina good to see you having a bit of downtime, your such a busy wolf you deserve time to yourself xo Good morning Pj its 18c today lovely outside im just watching the market gardeners out the back of our house planting what ever is their next lot of veges, i learnt from a neighbour who knows the family and they supply to local Aldis shops as well as some smaller vege shops around this area they have been here for over 30 yrs is rishi snuggled up in bed still I would be if I could be well Pj enjoy your day Fatima how goes your vege garden hello to everyone I hope you are all doing ok hugs

matina, sent you a PM with more news. My Maine family is doing OK, all things considered and looking forward to spring. They're having a big 70th birthday party for my sister-in-law on Saturday. I have two medical appointments coming up soon, one for my 'holter monitor' results. Since they didn't ring back and tell me that I needed to reschedule, I assume that the specialist got his 18 hours of data on whatever my heart is doing while I'm doing something else! Eye doc checkup tomorrow, to get ready for my May cataract op. These appointments never seem to end, as you well know! Enjoyed my ironbark fire again last night. Best firewood I ever bought.

Katy, another beautiful day up here in the mountains. Was about 9 degrees earlier and I think the temperatures will soon drop further at these altitudes. That always sounds nice, when you say you can watch the local farmers at work from your backyard. I spent so many years living and working next to a biodynamic farm in The Hills. That particular area used to supply most of Sydney's veggies, 50 years or more ago, although now it's an expensive residential area. Rishi came upstairs at some point and is still napping inside one of her little cubby houses. Sunnya spent some time with my sunbaking in the back yard, and she's still sitting out on the patio. Birds are all fed but my two fuzzies don't seem to be in a hurry to eat. They do receive frequent feeds and treats, I guess.
