Sometimes it's easier to just give up, if the amount is small. iiNet Manila phoned yet again today, to tell me that they've told NBN that I should get a download speed of 36 to 40. (NBN told them that 15 is the best I can expect.) This constitutes some kind of 'escalation' on the part of iiNet.

matina, some bush flowers and a view in North Leura . . . hope you're feeling at least a bit better. I don't know if that word has the same connotations in the US . . . I didn't even notice! Anyhow, a proper Skype call from my brother is now due tomorrow morning.

PJ, I give up on that one, for sure. I don't think that iiNet Manila really understand the fact that you're so far away from the node boxes/whatever they're called that it's pretty well impossible for you to have better speeds unless they give you fibre to the premises. Which they should do for everyone, but they won't because they're slack butt heads.

Star, I'm just going to leave it all in iiNet's hands. I have something to gain (even if unlikely) and nothing to lose. What I had hoped for was a cut in my monthly ISP charges. In the meantime, my speeds have tripled, so that's a plus.
