When I came down from Darwin in 1973, I lived at Lavender Bay and took a ferry to work in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Find the Sydney Harbour Bridge pylon to the right (north pylon), then let your eye go up until you see the shoreline just beyond. That's Lavender Bay. I had a terrible ground floor apartment back then, but in a great place.

ANZAC Day tomorrow and my 96 year old neighbour, a WWII vet, is being taken to Sydney to join in the big march there.
