I thought about buying this Acer 1.2GHz Iconia B1 tablet.

It will be used by a friend. His main use will be to play one specific game on the internet and watch movies. Email will be seldom used.

Anyone have opinions on this tablet?

It depends on what sort of game you want to play on this tablet as it has a very low grade CPU Chipset and is more suited for playing lite games like Sudoku, Bejeweled, Candy Crush, etc. If you are looking to play games like Asphalt, Dead Trigger, NOVA, etc then this tablet is definately not for you. As for use for watching movies and surfing the net performance is on par with any tablet. However I would like to state that Acer is not a very good brand and they have a habit of not producing updates for their line of tablets.

Personally, I would recommend getting either a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, a ASUS HD Memopad or a Google Nexus 7. As either of those offer much more power for gaming than the Acer Iconia.
