I gave SMS for iChat a try and it wasn't too bad.
I can't really request it because I don't have enough points , at least I don't know. This is my second post.

AirDroid isn't too bad but it updates slowly to have a fluid conversation with someone, or maybe that is just me.

On my google based SMS app, it allows Messages from the Web. You access it from the 3 dots top right then use a similar interface to web whatsapp. Oh its free too
