Make sure battery optimisation is off for Spotify to prevent crashes and also very high doesn`t give you more than 160kbps, it`s just a placebo, 8.5.57... is the next best stable, 8.5.69 is the one which has extra feature unlocked `canvas share` and some ui changes but you may face `artist page not loading` issue (Spotify own bug). I think it`s been fixed in latest versions so have to wait until mrdude releases new mod.

Thank you for answering my question and the advice:clap: For the battery saver setting, I've always kept "No restrictions" for Spotify, but I seemed to have toggled off the autostart without noticing. I will be keeping the placebo though, makes me happy

I have a few things about the artist page not loading:
1. Could you maybe add a line to send you the type of device ppl are using?
2. For Xiaomi you could add a line about trying to deactivate MiUi-Optimizations in developer options (could delete app data of different apps) and ask for reporting back?
3. I have flashed Xiaomi.Eu Custom Rom on my device and trying 8.5.71.723 (by mr.dude). On Xiaomi.Eu the Miui-optimisations are disabled by default (Dev decision) but else as near on stock as possible (incl. security and junk scanner). Let see if this changes anything.

Xiaomi.eu Rom won't fix the problem.
Flashed Paranoid Rom Quartz 4, which uses a different /vendor image without all the bloatware of xiaomi.
This finallly works!

So yeah ... I still don't know what exactly is interfering here, but Miui-Optimisations aren't the problem (alone).
Switching to another rom based on ASOP/CAF/different vendor-image and getting rid of anything xiaomi related does the trick.

Don't know about huawei or oneplus devices, where this error was reported too.

It could be v3 of the mod that Mr dude posted in the comments of 8.5.69.834. It works better.

There is no V3 version with 8.5.69.834
V3 is available only with 8.5.68.904.

The lite version removes certain unneeded things, makes the app "lighter" and it basically does the same job

You can check the mod Info for these.
Typically it has removed all languages but English and Russian(?), compressed graphics.

It is made for faster starting and weaker phones. (afaik)

Yes it`s completely safe unless you are using some pirated version of mrdude and balatan mod, I`ve been using the app for more than 4 years no issue

Yes they have been continuously updating it and has the latest 8.5.80... too but if it`s legit or not that I don`t know cause it contains same bug of artist image not centered which is present in mrdude 8.5.70 and 8.5.71.. I`m still using 8.5.69.. which works perfect
