When I'm trying to play big files with subtitles, the playback is fast forward (time goes 20-30 sec forward) and with no subs! Any idea?

Anyone knows, how to handle subtitles?
I have subtitle file in SRT format named after the movie name and still can't see the subtitles. In settings this option is checked.
What can be wrong?

Thanks for all replies.

Is this by the official developer of vPlayer (0.77, etc...) or is this the spin-off?

Personally I strongly recommend Moboplayer. Always used Rockplayer but Moboplayer is even better!!!...and free! Give it a try!

I've had nothing but problems with moboplayer. What all of these players seem to miss is the one function I truly like about the video player on my HTC Inspire, which is you can select Dolby sound or SRS surround sound and boy does it sound fabulous! Shame I haven't found a player that combines the good video, lots of player formats, great audio....

Tested:

RockPlayer
yxplayer
arcMedia
MoboPlayer
VPlayer
VPlayer Pro

Test file was high bit rate h264 720p mkv.

HTC Desire, 1GHz.

FFmpeg library based RockPlayer, arcMedia, MoboPlayer, VPlayer were showing semi slide show with artifacts. All but MoboPlayer were perfectly able to show subtitles correctly.

Proprietary decoding engine based yxplayer were showing SOME frames correctly, with rest frames been some sort of noise like. But it is a still huge progress for a player - last summer yxplayer was hanging or simply quitting on attempts to play MOST videos in my library. And now it plays almost all files perfectly. This is important because it is nice to have an alternative to FFmpeg crowd.

The winner VPlayer Pro, was able to play video at full framerate. Unfortunately it was not able to show subtitles for this particular video (bummer! "Enable subtitle" option was obviously checked). I'm not sure what engine VPlayer Pro uses (optimized version of FFmpeg???), but it is definitely the fastest around.

The other player I would recommend is VPlayer. If you get used to it UI, you won't look back to any other player. Plus it have an option to set priority to speed or quality of decoding algorithm - something that I have not seen in any other player.

PS. Despite almost identical names, VPlayer and VPlayer Pro are not related, different UI, speed, options and bugs... And sure released by different companies/developers.
