The first thing you need to do is:

how to put a smartphone into developer mode

There are enough website that show you how to do this.

Then once you have your phone in developer mode
This is now next:

Connect with a USB cable you smartphone to your PC or Laptop

PS make sure you rename the app to Sygic.apk.

Copy it to the folder you have the ADB.exe files

Here you can download the tools:

https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip

Now use these commands:
adb devices
adb push sygic.apk /data/local/tmp/sygic.apk
adb shell pm install -i "com.android.vending" -r /data/local/tmp/sygic.apk
adb shell rm /data/local/tmp/sygic.apk
adb shell pm list packages -i com.sygic.aura

If installed correctly you will see you installed in vendor mode

package:com.sygic.aura installer=com.android.vending

_________________________________________________________________________________________

For 5,6,and 7 Android

PS make sure you rename the app to Sygic.apk

Copy Sygic.apk to the phones memory in the folder "Download" first

Open a DOS window with Command Prompt:
Then go to the folder c:\platform-tools

Now use these commands:
adb devices
adb shell pm install -i "com.android.vending" -r /storage/emulated/0/Download/Sygic.apk
adb shell pm list packages -i com.sygic.aura

If installed correctly you will see you installed in vendor mode

package:com.sygic.aura installer=com.android.vending

I have tested this many times on different smartphones and it works.

But you need to learn a little about using external commands to control your smartphone.

Please read the info in regards to how to put a smartphone into developer mode

Before you even start to do this.........

Previous @mrdude mods are perfect.

I have a Sygic problem that I haven't seen on the forum.
First, the system did once work on Android Auto!
I then, alas, tried to update using the ADB technique.
That worked as far as the update goes, but lost the AA capability.
I get the correct response - package:com.sygic.aura installer=com.android.vending, it's just that Sygic no longer shows in the AA Customize Launcher list and by extension no longer appears on the AA screen in the car.

I'm surmising that somewhere along the way I have corrupted the logs.

So my questions are does anyone have any ideas about this, or any guidance on completely removing Sygic, logs and all, from the phone so that I can start over?

I'm using Android 11 on a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Cheers!

Try this, go to the Google home page on your phone and view it as a desktop site, you can access the Collections page using the same instructions as for a PC (above). Then change it back to phone mode and add the page to your home screen.
