I heard this app got sold and now its worse can anyone comment on this?

The size of the apk almost tripled from 68mb (v10) to 169mb (v12). Its also getting bad reviews on Playstore. Apparently they are trying to monetize it somehow.

On November 2 2020, Daegu Limited bought Maps.me for 1.56 Billion Russian rubles (some US$20 million at 2020’s exchange rate). Daegu Limited is announced to be part of Parity.com Group.

Regarding the question, who is really responsible, there are two main groups involved. The first is Parity.com AG, which is part of Convexity Holdings AG from Switzerland. [11][non-primary source needed] The second is the global TMF Group, a partner of Parity.com Group,[12][non-primary source needed] which has a dependence office in Cyprus.

Regarding the App Stores from Android and Apple, there is Maps.Me (Cyprus) Limited and Stolmo Limited. Regarding the policy of maps.me [13][non-primary source needed] both fit to the responsibility to TMF Group in the same office in Nicosia.[14][non-primary source needed]

According to the search engines there is still no visible proof of what Daegu Limited is and if Parity.com AG is the same as Parity.com Group.

In summary there are curently five companies involved: Daegu Ltd, Parity.com AG/Group, TMF Group, Stolmo Ltd, Maps.me (Cyprus) Ltd.

Regarding the increase in the size of the app its purely because th modded clubbed all these 'CPUs: armeabi-v7a, arm64-v8a, x86, x86_64;'x together into a single apk so its less work and i did a little digging it seems that unfortunate changes were made but they backtracked due to the bad reviews and now its amost the same as the original
