First link had the issue you mentioned. I downloaded the 3rd mirror link and tested, needed to load it up wait for google play game to say unable to sign in, close game from recent, reload. Works.

Seems like something he should have mentioned in the OP, "Oh, hey, this doesn't work on first load, close and reload it, blah blah blah." But nope, didn't even test it.
