Boenkyo v1.21 (Freeware)
Requirements: PocketPC 2003(SE), WM5, WM6
Overview: Boenkyo is another marvellous product from Robert Brenner (see Taiyoukei, Seiza, etc.) but which will please only a small number of people: astronomy fans.
Boenkyo is another marvellous product from Robert Brenner (see Taiyoukei, Seiza, etc.) but which will please only a small number of people: astronomy fans. Boenkyo is a program that simulates the behaviour of a telescope. To do this it allows you to select a telescope from a list of models but also allows you to modify the optical settings to personalise it. Finally, it allows you to finely set the gear according to the celestial object you wish to observe to be able to take the very essence of the gear and to see to it that each observation is a pleasure: to make the observation with a minimum of configuration work.
Beyond these functions which may appear basic, Boenkyo can configure the geographic location and time to generate information relative to the solar system to indicate points to observe. A module monitors, at regular intervals, the position of the sun and planets, some stars and constellations (some = hundreds ...)
The functionality list is impressive and literally supersedes the reviews that we can write on this site. Also, I invite you to try without delay this sublime program which, in spite of its important technical aspect, is an ode to the exploration of the solar system...
