That is very strange, normally you can set this when you install TomTom or run it for the first time. Another way to access these settings is from settings-4th page-choose units. I have no idea why your TT behaves this way, I advise a re-install and see if that works correctly. Seems your TT version is screwed up.

I've just installed tt 6100 v8100 and it is still the same.
Maybe it is because i have installed as well on rom "quick gps" or maybe because an original tt is also on rom memory?? what do You think?? any ideas??

Finally I've found a solution and I'm putting this below:

a) First get a registry editor for the ppc
http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/2005/1/Mobile_Registry_Editor.aspx

b) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Control Panel\GPS Settings and change the value for the key Hide from 1 to 0.

c) Reboot.

d) Now go to Start->Settings->System and you will see GPS

e) In the GPS app, go to the last tab and uncheck Let Windows Manage my GPS.

f) Under the Hardware tab note the Comport of your GPS and set your program to that comport. The GPS will start automatically. (mine was on com7)

After all this I installed tt6200 and afterwards i could choose which antenna i want use and on which parameters

For 6.200 it is no need to edit original .pna data file I tested with the same map Eastern_Europe-Map_v608 and Alps-Map 6.32 and it work without any modification.

hi danny

So you are saying that all you need to do to use old maps with TT6 is to edit their pna files?

Any chance of posting Eastern Europe one to rapidshare.com?

Pleeeeeeas :D

On page 8 of this thread I reported that TomTom 6.200 recognizes (opens) the old Eastern Europe map, version 608. You don't have to make ANY changes in the map for it to be opened by TomTom 6.200.
From all 6.xxx versions of TomTom only 6.200 opens the old map.

Thanx danny

Kaksi is right... 6.2 does see the map without any change but when I tested on 6.1 it did not work.

Never mind. I will stick to iGO. The map for where I GO ( :D ) are much beter than ant TomTom Released so far.

Thanx to danny and kaksi

Hi! I would like to have TT 6.2 installed on my PDA and with voces and all other crap.

When I take CAB file of 6.2, it is just the program itself. No voices included.

Should I copy manually voice files or do I have to install them? In what catalogue should voice files reside?

The basic voices are in the data.chk file.
Addon voices go into \voices folder. This can be on SD card or under \ProgamFiles\Navigator

data.chk file is present, but in Voice selection all choices are like disabled.
copying voice files into \ProgamFiles\Navigator\Voice catalogue doesnt change a thing.

please help:)

Syncronise your PDA with your PC and be sure PC it is connected to internet.

Now you can download & auto install voices from your PDA using TT Plus Services-> Download Voices. ( I had the same problem and this is how I installed voices ).
