This version is 6.2, not 6.03....much recent.

Is this an official release?

It is a taiwanese build (the one that needs the fake chinese3.ttf)

It is not complete and starts very slow. Then it cannot find any maps
on my 2003se pda.

Nice words can be made but we are missing the story.

It's released by TomTom Taiwan. I don't know why it is not "official"? Anyway, TomTom Taiwan doesn't write the code itself. The HQ decides what goes into each release. This is the 2007 Q3 update that just released along with update for TomTom 710, One in Taiwan.

Like I said, it is meant for Chinese market. But it is said, it fixed quite a few problems in 6.02 (the non-Chinese version). Take it or leave it.

There are crxxks for WM5 and PPC2003. It works on Win CE .NET 4.2, too. Too bad, it doesn't work on Win CE 5.0 (like Mio Cx20) yet.

You´re right. But the archive in the first post only contains the fixed exe file.
Not realy complete if you ask me. And not much info given there.

The rest of the program can be downloaded here (not fixed):

I will wait for these fixes to be released by tomtom europe (cannot be long now)
or wait for ppc version 7.

Cheers

While it is broadly accepted this convention:
major_version.minor_version (both together are called Release Number)
there is a grey area about the way of using revision, patch, build, etc, numbers.

The most common way of using build number is:
IT NEVER RESETS WHEN RELEASE NUMBER CHANGES.

From this point of view this pair of version number can never exist:
6.030 (8320)
6.203 (7220)

Unless they are different products (i.e.: one for PDA and other one for PNA) :?
or vendor is using different convention for build number :?

Programmers and software tools they use that compare version numbers never take in consideration build numbers, just major and minor version numbers. Build number is too dependant on vendor naming way.

While still I do not understand witch is the latests version I have to say the following in favor of version 6.2xx:

  • Since previous version 6.201(7160) it handles perfectly BT turn on/off. It starts BT if required and leaves it same status it was before executing TT.
  • Current thread version 6.203(7220) is the first one I have ever tried that seems to behave in landscape as fast responsive as in portrait mode.

My PDA: Axim X51v
My current TT configuration:
  • Latest full 6.2xx setup from 6.200
  • Latest voices from 6.000 (no voices in 6.200)
  • Latest data.chk from 6.201(7160)
  • Latest cracked "TomTom Navigator.exe" from current thread version 6.203(7220)

NOTE:
File chinese3.ttf, left by v6.200 full install, cannot be deleted or TT hangs.
But it does seem it can be replaced by a 0 byte void file with same name. Hey! it is a 16MB file!
